First stage hypnosis show
  • It was totally brilliant. Did exactly what I had read in Ray's book minus the pre-talk because I hadn't really prepared one properly and they asked me completely by surprise. It is interesting how people just go out like lightbulbs when you've done the tests and use a tough selection process and theres lots of expectation(people were talking about it all day) unlike street hypnosis where people never seem to react to the initial induction as intensely.

Anyway some interesting things happened, I was doing the eye lock on someone and some other random person in the crowd cried out because they couldn't move their eyes. She then stole the show.

Also, I found the crowd found any type of conflict so hilarious. I can't believe how much people laughed when the x-factor judge turned down the auditioning singer and she started to attack him verbally. Although I think the fact that we weren't sure what would happen made it better.

So yea, highly recommend Ray's book. I used his 6 of his 7 steps to great effect and managed to really impress my annoyingly skeptical audience.

One question, is it better to do the tests in the audience or after selecting subjects? I did it in the audience and had some very fantastic subjects as well as very hypnotized, but sleepy, droopy and unemotional subjects who didn't get much of a laugh.
