First Week of becomming a hypnotist!
  • Alright guys, been a beginner hypnotist for a week thanks to the help i got from this website! So thought i'de give an update on my progress as a little thankyou...keepin the site alive and whatnot :P
So on tuesday last week i saw a youtube video with a link to this site and thought it was a load of rubbish haha, surely hypnosis cant be real...let alone possible for anyone! crazy. So i thought what have i got to lose? stayed up that night reading stuff from here and then on wednesday i brought myself to attempt it on my cousin. Using the handshake induction, as soon as i said "sleep" he went! o.O thought he was having me on for a bit... then when i described the glue on his feet and asked him to try remove them, he looked at me and literally couldnt!! i freaked out and stood back in disbelief but him noticing this made him snap out of it and he managed to pull his leg off the floor but was so spun out haha!
So yeah, from that point on i been hypnotising all my mates, trying lots of different techniques and trying to figure out hypnosis and how i can use this in my life. I've been so occupied in my own thoughts lately, thought i had taken to many drugs in my life and they were finally making me go mental... but it's true! for all you people who are thinking of becoming hypnotists, it really is possible and surprisingly easy! just get it in your head that you can do it!
So far i have tried handshake inductions with them just focussing on my eyes, then found it easier to have them focus on a point in my palm and then pull it down when saying sleep. i like to hypnotise my friends while theyre laid down i find i rarely fail a hypnosis when theyre laid down and it helps come up with an easy deepener in which you describe to them, their bodies sinking into the bed slowly from feet to head.
Causing them to forget things while in a trance is great fun! when i managed to pull that off i couldnt really believe it haha! this whole hypnosis stuff is all so very confusing and sketchy... but i'll continue to learn! now that i've started I cant stop!
The fact that all my hypnosis attempts at college have failed makes me more determined and it would also be nice to be able to hypnotize my family as I only ever came close once when trying on my sister but i span out so she span out so that was the end of that haha.
Off to catch up on the coursework i let slip behind due to hypnosis!!! ...fair exchange tho :P
Glad to answer any questions any beginners like myself may have, or any questions from anyone for that matter, i'll try my best :)
And a big thanks to Nathan, Leo, and any others that contributed to the making of this site! You basically just sorted my life out haha and you can trust me to use it for good!
    Stay Chilled x

Sounds like you've done really well since you've only done it for a week.

The craziest thing for me was my first invisibility. Find your favourite hypnomonkey and give it a try.

  • haha! yeah i really wanted to try this!! got to be the best thing to amnesia :P is there any hints on this? i tried to make my mate see a pack of cards in my hand and it didnt work, he said he really felt like they were there and as if he would have been able to feel them if he picked one but he just couldnt see them?

Its all about them, not you. Perhaps ask them if they're visual, auditory or kinaesthetic learners, or have a good imagination and vivid dreams. These are tell tail signs of good subjects for hallucinations.

Really good subjects tend to be people who see sounds or visualize themselves doing things in advance and are complete visual learners.
  • cheers for the hint! i tried this yesterday once on my mate but without success haha, i do think he is right for the job though, will ask him those questions next time!
  • and look up on some videos for suggestion examples :P
  • Hey IDC I was curious as to where you heard that info about good subjects and their learning styles? I've always gotten results from people regardless of their "learning" style. I put that in quotes because the learning styles idea really didn't appeal to me too much. It seems very separate from how human beings learn to begin with and then to link that to good subjects was really an interesting proposition to me.
What do you want? Where are you in relation to that? And what do you need to pull in to get there?

  • Just by asking people I hypnotize about their learning styles after I've hypnotized them. The people I get the most success in terms of hallucinations tend to be good visual learners who can visualize stuff more easily, obviously I haven't used scientific method to produce this idea but it seems to work for me. Hypnosis isn't magic: if you can't visualize something without hypnosis than you can't with. If people have crap imaginations, they don't automatically have better ones while in hypnosis.
  • fair point, but whether hypnosis is magic or not is down to that persons perception of magic surely? alot of people dont understand hypnosis like they don't magic :P
  • Omg plz help me I try on my bro but I can tell he is faking it when I pull my hand away he just stands plz help me
  • alright mate, i wouldnt try on your little brother i hear its dificult to hypnotise close family and i havent been able to hypnotise either my brother or my sisters yet, try a friend. and you can tell if they fake it, pull your hand away slowly and subtly try to keep his hand hovering in the air, be persistent and when you finally have their full attention and you can slowly take your hand away leaving theirs "cataleptic" (hovering) then you can move onto the shock.
Keep trying dude you'll get it eventually :)

  • Hey ZZ! Here are a few pointers that will definitely help you get better results. This can be used on your family, friends or strangers.

    - Make sure you're inducing the shock or surprise response. If they're able to predict when you're going to move your hand away. . it loses the effectiveness. So pay attention to their reaction when you do it and adjust accordingly.

    - As soon as you say "sleep", begin the deepener regardless of their initial response. Often time, if you just continue with the deepener, they'll go with it anyway. So use that to your advantage.

    - Be sure to write out a really good deepener and memorize it so when you say it, you will sound smooth, confident and easy to listen to. Inductions can get shaky with studdering, saying "um. . ." too much or awkward pauses in between. The smoother you are, the easier they'll slip into trance.

    - Look at other inductions aside from instant or rapid as well. Sometimes, learning the really drawn out inductions gives you the practice and taste for what good deepeners have in common. This will make it easier when trying to create your own.

Those few things will probably help out a bit. Let me know!!
