So…
I do have a confession to make, and I am not sure where to start, so here goes.
Years ago, when before I even hit the hypnosis scene, I never even knew what hypnosis was. I was online one night, searching, spending time with my best friend Google, trying to find out more ways that people could be influenced, sales techniques, Influence, relationships, you name it… even topics often labeled as taboo such as seduction.
So, how did I land up here, married to hypnosis, you may be wondering. Well, to be quite honest with you, at first I used to keep asking myself the same thing, since I had absolutely no use for hypnosis, why bother, right?
In searching for Influence Techniques, I landed myself in pools of acronyms like NLP… and I had no clue what ‘nilip’ was or what it even meant… its three letters, who cares… but curiosity… got the better of me and It was soon typed into google and the return key was pressed (see, it was even before “google instant’ was launched)…
One site got my attention (I never had memory techniques working for me back then so I have no clue what site it was) but the author said, “NLP is the cousin of Hypnosis”… I dont know about you, but some of my cousins arent that great, so I wondered whether NLP was the fun cousin or was it Hypnosis… your guess is as good as mine was.
So… Flash forward a couple years, and here I am, co-founder of the International Association for Youth Hypnotists alongside Nathan Thomas (who is a whole other story on his own), and after all of this… I have come to a single conclusion and one fine and amazing realization.
Hypnosis is NLP… NLP is Hypnosis… Hypnosis and NLP are Influence…
Its a continuous loop… at some point the line between them simply disappears and they become this one powerful super-powered technique base that actually has nothing to do with techniques, but more a way of life.
They are all methods to change peoples minds. Simple!
Hypnosis is Influence/Persuasion at the deepest level.
NLP is a greater, smarter way to learn things, create models of success and mindsets that work, combined with the methods that can change thoughts and feels and you have Influence once again…
